Admission Process

Selection of students for admission to B.A., B.Sc., B.Com courses is based only the students' academic records. For detailed information regarding rules, regulations and procedures of admission, enquiry may be made at the college office and website (www.pmv.ac.in) immediately after the publication of the results of Higher Secondary Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or Equivalent examinations. All applications for admission must be made in the prescribed forms available online. Admission forms duly filled in are to be submitted online within the stipulated date and time. Forms not properly filled in will automatically be rejected. Merit list will be duly notified online and selected applicants will be directed to pay the necessary charges on a specified date, failing which the claims for admission shall be forfeited. All admissions are treated provisional. The college reserves the right of cancelling any admission which may appear forged or nonconforming to the admission rules of the college and of West Bengal State University.

Online admission procedure

STEP ONE: OBTAINING THE ADMISSION FORM
Eligible candidates whose names appear in the merit list are directed to obtain the Admission Form from his/her own portal.

STEP TWO: REQUIRED DOCUMENTS & FILLING OUT THE ADMISSION FORM
Each candidate must keep ready his/her duly filled-out admission form. The form should be signed by the candidate, with date, and a photograph of the candidate should be affixed on the form. The following documents should also be kept ready:

  1. Xerox copies of H.S (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Admit Card
  2. Xerox copy of Madhyamik (or equivalent) Admit Card/Proof of Date of Birth
  3. Original School-Leaving Certificate
  4. Student copy of Registration Challan
  5. Xerox copy of S.C./S.T./OBC-A/OBC-B/PH Certificate (wherever applicable)

Original college copy of registration challan to be submitted during admission.

STEP THREE: DOCUMENTS VERIFICATION AND ADMISSION
The candidate must bring all the above-mentioned original documents, and produce the same along with duly filled-in Admission Form before the authorised person of the college for verification and approval on the specified date of admission. The candidate will be permitted to get admission through portal only after all the information and documents provided by him/her have been verified to be authentic.

STEP FOUR: DEPOSITING THE ADMISSION FEE
After the verification of relevant information and documents, the candidate will have to open his/her portal and collect the Challan for depositing admission fees. The candidate can make the payment in any branch of State Bank of India within 3 days from the date of submission of Admission Form and verification of papers and documents. If a candidate fails to make the payment within the stipulated time, his/her candidature will be treated as cancelled.

STEP FIVE: SUBMITTING THE STAMPED ADMISSION FEES CHALLAN
After making payment of admission fees in the bank, within 3 days from the date of submission of application form in the college, the candidate will have to produce the stamped receipt, i.e. the student's counterpart of the challan, before the college office for its record and issuance of “ROLL NUMBER” and completion of admission procedure.
