About the Department

Although the Department of Commerce was set up on 25thSeptember, 1978, it started functioning on 1st July, 1983 to cater to the needs of students of commerce and for the advancement of learning. At the inception of the Department, we offered General course. With the passage of time our Department has grown and has brought into effect the Honours course on 1st July, 1999. At present, our department consists of seven efficient and dedicated teachers, out of which, there is one Associate Professor, two PTTS and four Guest Teachers. The academic performance of our Department has always been outstanding. Many of our students have held various important posts in different fields of work. Many of our faculty members are authors of many well-known reputed books. One of our faculty members has published several articles in journals of national and international repute. Some of our members have also academic associations with other eminent educational and research institutions. Members of our Department have always taken extra care and provided special guidance to the economically and academically backward students. The members of the faculty are always eager to help out students and be absolutely dedicated to their work.
